CREIA Introduces Spanish Language Real Estate Inspection Documents

May 2004 – The California Real Estate Inspection Association (www.CREIA.org) is pleased be leading the nation in providing Spanish language informational inspection documents in its outreach to the growing Hispanic community in the state. “CREIA wants all prospective home buyers to know the importance and value of having a quality home inspection performed prior to purchasing a home. These translated documents are an outreach to the Latino home buyer seeking out a professional home inspector and to help explain more about the process in the Spanish language,” says Carl Poehlmann, Chairman of the 1250+ member Californaia Real Estate Inspection Association.

Introduced April 2004, CREIA now provides a Spanish language version of its general informational brochure (explaining the inspection purpose and process) along with its Standards of Practice (detailing the inspection requirements recognized in the state) and the standard inspection agreement. All CREIA members have access to these documents for use with their clients.

Chester Ruiz, Founder and Honorary Chairman of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professional of Silicon Valley (www.NAHREPSVC.org) adds, “CREIA is leading the way and setting the standards for home inspection reporting in Spanish. We look forward to working with the CREIA organization in raising awareness of the special needs of the Latino consumer.” NAHREP of Silicon Valley is an affiliate of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. The Mission of NAHREP of Silicon Valley is to increase the Latino homeownership rate by empowering the real estate professional that serve the Latino community. Educating the real estate professionals and providing a forum for all of the issues that are critical to the Latino consumer thru out the home buying process.

Since 1976, CREIA, a non-profit voluntary membership organization has been providing education, training, and support services to the real estate inspection industry and to the public. Inspectors must adhere to CREIA's Code of Ethics and follow the Standards of Practice developed by the association. These Standards of Practice have been recognized by the State of California, and are considered the source for home inspector Standard of Care by the real estate and legal communities.

CREIA requires its members to successfully pass a comprehensive written examination of property systems and complete 30 hours of continuing education each year. Members can accumulate credits through various sources of education including monthly chapter meetings, conferences, and other approved activities. CREIA keeps records to ensure that members are complying with the requirements. Educational topics cover a variety of technical subjects including updates and advances affecting the profession of real estate inspection. CREIA is dedicated to consumer protection and education.
