2. Increase Communications between State and Chapters:
In an effort to increase networking among the membership, Chapter-specific listservs were created. All members should have received an email indicating that they were added to their chapter's listserv.

Leadership Day

Website

1. Updated Information and Improve Navigation:

  • The office has been working closely with Andy French, Chair of the Website Committee in getting the Website in shape and with SEO content. Since the Conference, we have been able to successfully overhaul the Chapter Webpages to be more comprehensive and provide more content/links, which in turn is helping to get more accurate searches on engines, specifically Google.

2. TIE

  • We are currently in the process of receiving the new threads on the current TIE to be extracted into Simple Machines to be rebuilt. We are able to host it in house and manage it from CREIA. More and more conversations are being filtered through the current TIE on the Website.

Stay tuned for updates!

On Your Way to Certified

Q: I have 10 inspections; can I complete my report views? Where can I go to get these completed?

A: The report review process in the last phase in the Path to Success program. A successful report review outcomes will effectively move you from the Associate designation to a Certified CREIA Inspector (CCI). The purpose of a report review is to assess compliance with the CREIA Standards of Practice (SOP), Code of Ethics, the California Business and Professions Code 7195, and the CREIA L.I.D.E.R (Locate. Identify. Describe. Explain. Recommend) method of report writing. The Associate shall submit for review electronic copies of ten (10) reports of fee paid inspections to CREIA, three (3) of which should be raised foundation dwellings whenever possible. The reports must be of independently conducted inspections of single-family residences. Inspections performed in conjunction with a CREIA Certified Trainer do not qualify.

The ten reports will be forwarded to a member of the report review panel. Of the ten (10) reports submitted, two (2) reports [one (1) of which will be a raised foundation dwelling whenever possible] will be selected by the report reviewer for review using the CREIA Report Review form. Should the first reviewed report of the two not meet the above standards, the reviewer will stop the review process and communicate the areas needing improvement to the Associate and ask the Associate to re-write and re-submit two reports for review. If the subsequent two (2) reprts fail to meet the standards outlined above, an additional report review fee of $100 will be charged to the Associate and the Associate shall start the report review process from the beginning.

If you have reports ready to be reviewed, please contact the CREIA office at 949-715-1768 or [email protected].

If you are on your way to certiication and have a question, please email CREIA at [email protected].
